TECHNICAL FEATURES. The EUWIND air barrier is installed inside or outside the
building, on one or both sides of the entrance door to be
shielded.
The ventilation column includes:
. An air intake protected from external contamination
. An upper silencer
. One or more axial fans
. A lower silencer
. A metallic joint
. A ground level channel with angled slits
for the expulsion of air.
The fan extracts warm air from near the ceiling and
pushes it through the silencers in the distribution
channel and then through the slit at
considerable speed. This jet of air cuts and lifts the
layer of cold air at ground level and expels it to the
outside of the building, leaving warmer air on the
inside. The EUWIND air barrier has the advantage of
maximum efficiency at ground level, where the
incidence of cold air is much higher. |
FACTORS BEARING ON THE SYSTEM SETTING. The aim of the air buffer is to block out cold air draughts
from entering at doorways.
These draughts are determined by differences between
indoor and outdoor air pressure, due mainly to:
. Extraction of air from the building
[extractor fans, ventilators, etc.]
. Differences in internal and external temperature
. Wind pressure on the entrance area.
The air barrier is designed, taking into account a
nominal difference in pressure of 8-10 Pa between the
inside and outside. |
